Since 1997, our expertise has been memory care. Families rely on our seasoned, compassionate care to sustain them through their journey. Today, Memory Matters has enhanced its memory care services to support caregivers and loved ones much earlier in their disease process.
Our Memory Care Specialists, certified by the Alzheimer’s Association, combine therapeutic activities with volunteer-driven music, art, yoga and special presentations.
Simultaneously, caregivers receive education geared to them, as well as peer support groups and private counseling. Memory Matters is committed to nurturing caregivers’ brain health through intentional self-care, helping them maintain a sustainable pace.
Our programming generates a positive environment to give each participant a “best brain day,” regardless of their level of ability. Our early-intervention Connections Class keeps brains firing for students still actively engaged in self-care with their caregiver; our memory-care day program Compass supports both participants and caregivers equally; and our Counseling Service bolsters all in need of support through peer groups and private therapeutic sessions.
How do we do this every day? Memory Matters practices the “Best Friends Approach” to memory care. Fundamentally, we do unto others as we would have them do unto us. Care with love. That’s our special formula.
