Memory Matters welcomes donors to become member of the Legacy Circle in our Legacy Builders planned gifts program. Gifts made through your estate as a bequest, or other long-horizon means, will sustain Memory Matters for the next 20 years of caring for our Lowcountry neighbors.
Why Support Memory Matters?
We estimate about 10,000 Lowcountry residents are currently affected by dementia – 2,500 with a diagnosis, and 7,500 caring for them (Alzheimer’s Association; US Census data/formula).
In addition, approximately 27,000 people are in the 55+ age range in the Lowcountry. This number is fairly evenly split between the Island and Bluffton/Sun City. With our vision to “Optimize Brain Wellness” for every resident in our area, visionary donors are needed more than ever to underwrite ambitious educational and screening initiatives.
Planned giving arrangements are always custom-crafted. Gifts vary from simple will bequests to arrangements that support income and tax-saving benefits. Sample gifts include bequests from your will, living trust, charitable trust, retirement plan, life insurance policy and real estate.
For a private conversation about planned giving, please call Jan Smith, Development Director, at 843-842-6688.
